- Inspected vehicle, verified customer concern. Leak is coming from between transfer case and transmission, however transfer case removal is necessary to diagnose specific leak location. Recommend removal in order to further diagnose issue. Other noteworthy items: Front lower control arm bushings are dry rotted and falling apart, beyond end of service life. Recommend replacement of lower control arms.
- Raised vehicle on hoist. Removed front and rear drive shaft. Removed transfer case skid plate. Drained transfer case fluid. Disconnected t-case electrical connections. Removed t-case hardware. Removed t-case from vehicle. Removed extension housing. Removed old gaskets from mating surfaces. Installed new gaskets and installed t-case in reverse order of removal. Filled t-case with proper fluid. Road tested vehicle to ensure resolution of leak. No further leak detected. Complete.
